We're looking for an influential engineering leader to lead our Retail Bank's cloud engineering team, and partner across the enterprise to set the strategic direction on initiatives with significant impact. This role provides a considerable opportunity for ingenuity, as this individual will work as a key leader and an exceptionally talented team, to drive the cloud engineering strategy of our Retail Bank.

We are looking for an independent thinker who makes convincing, evidence-based, consensus oriented decisions. The ideal candidate is comfortable thinking strategically and diving deep, and is able to clearly articulate a strategy and the means required to implement it. A vanguard leader who can identify opportunities and leverage the team to translate them into live solutions.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership to a dynamic team of architects and distinguished engineers.
  • Co-create a strategic vision, direction and patterns for COF Retail Bank's cloud architecture and identify the path to fine tune and prove said strategy.
  • Collaborate with architects, other teams, product owners, and software engineers to ensure that the proposed direction and patterns addresses the organization's needs and provide significant value.
  • Exceptional written, oral and interpersonal communication skills to interact and build strong partnerships across organizational boundaries.
  • Influence with a strong positive attitude: Drive consensus across cross functional leaders and teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced, unstructured environment
  • Conduct design and architecture review to ensure compliance with standards


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 9 years' experience with Software Development and architecture
  • At least 7 years of people management experience
  • At least 3 years' experience experience with a public cloud (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree
  • 10+ years in inspiring, coaching and growing highly performing software engineering teams
  • 5+ years' experience working with Amazon Web Services
  • 5+ years' experience in enterprise scalable web application development
  • 5+ years' experience leading highly available internet facing customer application development
  • Experience with building modern applications using microservices based architecture, streaming platforms
