Email Marketing Manager

Capital One is seeking an Email Marketing Manager to fill a core role on the Brand and Marketing team supporting Spring. Spring is an exciting start-up business within Capital One that provides expertly negotiated savings and discounts to Small Business Owners. The Email Campaign Manager role will focus on developing an ongoing dialogue through direct email marketing with existing and potential Spring users. These customer management efforts will be key to deepening engagement and growing scale for Spring.

Responsibilities

  • Define an effective email marketing strategy in support of Spring goals (engagement and growth), outlining business intent and managing execution of campaigns
  • Develop and execute impactful email marketing campaigns from whitespace and make optimizations informed by a test-and-learn approach, rigorous quantitative analysis, insights from market research, and overarching business goals
  • Lead creative strategy and work directly with creative teams (both internal and external) to develop and implement creatives for campaigns
  • Define market research projects with internal research teams and external vendors to develop customer insights
  • Work proactively within a cross-functional team of Analysts, Partnerships Team, Product Managers, and Channel Experts as well as marketing partners from other Lines of Business
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders for all necessary approvals, such as Compliance, Legal, Corporate Brand
  • Manage 2 direct reports who support campaign development and execution


Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience developing and executing email marketing strategies, preferably for B2B and/or financial products
  • A baseline understanding of marketing technology tools such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, email and creative optimization platforms, measurement and analytic tools
  • Strong ability to identify and translate key customer insights into breakthrough marketing strategies across the funnel
  • Ability to successfully drive and execute multiple projects concurrently in a dynamic entrepreneurial environment
  • Strong quantitative problem-solving and rigorous analytic marketing skills
  • Highly effective communication skills with outstanding writing, editing, and presentation abilities
  • Strategic influencing skills to drive agreement across cross-functional teams


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or military experience
  • At least 4 years of experience in planning or executing marketing programs
  • At least 4 years of experience analyzing marketing programs
  • At least 2 years in managing corporate or agencies creative teams


Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Business, Marketing, Advertising, Economics or Consumer Behavior
  • At least 5 years of experience in planning, executing, and analyzing marketing programs, with a focus on B2B or financial products
  • At leas 5 years in managing creative teams and agencies
  • At leas 5 years in leading cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment
