Manager, Product Management - Authorizations Platform

Our consumer credit card business needs to empower our customers to spend freely on their cards while intelligently declining transactions for risk (e.g. fraud risk, credit risk, and etc). Enabling this critical capability is Cerberus - our cloud based, machine learning, data driven, authorizations decisioning platform.

As a product owner for data products in Cerberus, you'll work hand in hand with software engineering teams, data scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver our data oriented capabilities for the platform. You may have heard the saying "data is the new oil" - these tools are critical to unlock industry-leading growth and fraud detection leveraging both the massive amounts of data available to Capital One and the scale and flexibility of Cerberus.

You will balance business and technical needs to help solve the big data challenges of this platform:
  • Combining batch, real time, and streaming data to provide a complete view of the customer in near real time
  • Enabling our business partners to rapidly and safely add new data to mitigate rapidly changing risk vectors
  • Working with tech partners to design highly resilient solutions for data storage and retrieval
  • Onboarding new use cases and models to the Cerberus platform


What will you do?
  • Drive day-to-day prioritization of work, troubleshoot reported issues, and oversee releases
  • Establish and maintain a high level of credibility with stakeholders while proactively solving problems they may have delivering business value on the platform
  • Ensure we have adequate monitoring and controls around data quality and delivery
  • Break down business epics into features and further into user stories
  • Write acceptance criteria and lead the grooming efforts with the Agile team


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in product design, agile delivery, business analysis, data science, or software engineering


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • MBA or Master's degree
  • 2+ years of experience in Agile product management
