We're United Income from Capital One, a fintech startup business unit within Capital One, that's focused on building wealth potential for our customers-and we're looking to add a Product Manager to our growing team to help build and advance our direct-to-consumer experience.

Our vision is clear:

Use technology to lower the cost of financial advice, improve its quality and simplify its delivery, so that we can help more people convert their hard work into financial mobility and long-term security in retirement and beyond.

Our goals are simple:

Create the best financial planning and money management solution in the world.

Create a culture that's ambitious, fun, smart, and attracts and retains the best talent in each of our major areas of business.

Meaningfully and measurably improve the financial lives of American households.

About the role:

We're looking for someone to hit the ground running as a Product Manager for our Growth team. In this role, you'll become the voice of our prospective and new customers; coordinate with subject matter experts; perform competitive and market research to inform the next great thing we'll build; write and manage user stories; run kickoffs, scrums and planning sessions; manage the build, internal training, marketing and launch of new functionality; and measure and report the success of the previous project and any associated marketing efforts, all in coordination with the overall strategic vision of the company. And we're looking to you to help make the United Income product team even better.

The scope of this role will include:
  • Work with a team of user experience and visual designers, and engineers to articulate, iterate, and build an ideal onboarding and post-onboarding product experience to fuel United Income's growth to a top-5 wealth manager.
  • Becoming an expert on the team's product and features to properly market them and to inform customers of their value and benefits.
  • Take ownership of projects in various stages of readiness, and create an executable roadmap of product work.
  • Run kickoffs, scrums and planning sessions.
  • Perform competitive and market research to inform the building of the next project, and identify strategic opportunities for the business.
  • Manage the build, internal training, and communication around and launch of new functionalities.
  • Tracking and evaluation of user experience through AB testing, multi-variable testing, and journey mapping.
  • Creating and maintaining detailed metrics reports.
  • Rally buy-in and consensus among stakeholders, while proactively managing scope.

All of this work will support our core metrics of asset growth, cost to acquire, and maintaining our ambitious pace of innovation.

What we expect to see:
  • You're ready to roll up your sleeves and do the hard work necessary to support your projects and the company's strategic goals.
  • You combine enthusiasm, pragmatism, optimism and expertise to rally teams to accomplish well-defined goals.
  • You connect the dots between customer needs and how we can maximize our business goals.
  • You use metrics and analytics to define product success and user impact.

Basic qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or military experience
  • At least 3 years of digital product management experience

Preferred qualifications:
  • 5+ years of product management experience and a demonstrable track record of delivering impactful solutions in an Agile environment
  • Proven experience working with UXers, designers and engineers to solve challenging problems-while building and maintaining enthusiasm, team coordination, velocity and focus throughout the process.
