Summary

As a NBE/BE (Technical Expert For BSA/AML and Compliance), you will responsible for providing high level technical advice and expertise on Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)/Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) issues.

Responsibilities

As a NBE/BE (Technical Expert For BSA/AML) for Compliance, you will:
  • Serve as an expert advisor to OCC management and field examiners on highly technical and complex compliance related risk issues, including crosscutting issues.
  • Maintain high level and current expert knowledge of BSA/AML and OFAC-related developments, policy and supervisory issues, as well as familiarity with related consumer protection, financial inclusion, fair lending and/or community reinvestment issues, including industry practices, emerging issues and trends by establishing and maintaining relationships with bank industry and regulatory experts, and community and consumer groups.
  • Support CRP DC and collaborate with the CRP Directors in their representation of the OCC in various Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) and other interagency and international forums, as well as in meetings with public interest groups, Congressional staff, banker associations, consumer and community advocacy and other similar organizations and groups.
  • Work with the OCC's training and performance development groups to identify and address the training and developmental needs of examiners on compliance issues.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement:

You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the NB-VI band level or GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience for this position include:
  • Examining, auditing, or reviewing a financial institution's compliance with Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering (BSA/AML), Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) and other AML laws, regulations and recommending corrective action; OR
  • Identifying BSA/AML or OFAC risks, and developing policies, procedures and guidance to address those risks in a financial institution or regulatory agency.

The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or through volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.

Additional information

  • Position has been amended to extend the closing date.
  • Total pay cannot exceed applicable pay cap, which is $275,800 for 2021.
