Position Overview The Director of MBA Professional Development (PD) develops the strategic vision and growth strategy for the PD program, which serves 250+ high potential, underrepresented minority young professionals who have recently been admitted to business school, as well as 500+ current MBA students. The Director leads and develops a talented team of six career coaches and a program manager, all working together to prepare fellows for MBA-level recruiting and supporting their ongoing career development. The team plans and executes two professional development seminars and one Fall interview week each year for pre-MBA and MBA Fellows. The ideal candidate has deep industry experience, having spent time within a business unit of a top organization - possibly assigned additional recruiting duties or in a recruiting function - and has managed both projects and people, and is equally comfortable thinking strategically and diving into details. The successful candidate has the demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, excels in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment, and multitasks effectively. The position is based in MLT's office in Bethesda, MD and reports to the VP of Campus Programs. The Director of MBA Professional Development will: Develop and execute the overall strategic vision and growth strategy for the MBA Professional Development program. Develop and manage to program metrics to ensure Fellows are receiving internship and full-time job offers with MLT corporate partners at a high rate. Work with MLT's Partnerships team to develop Fellows' engagement opportunities with MLT corporate partners, with a focus on understanding partner needs and providing the best talent to fit those needs. Manage the development, delivery, evaluation, and improvement of the MBA PD curriculum (seminars, webinars, coaching calls), focused on self-assessment, industry exposure, job search techniques, and interview preparation. Manage a highly talented team of six to seven advanced-degreed PD coaches and one Program Manager, all of whom work remotely. Develop processes and procedures to ensure the delivery of consistent and high-quality program services. Work closely with the Recruiting & Admissions team to oversee the building of the MBA PD class to ensure strategic goals are met. Competencies, Experience, & Qualifications MBA degree plus at least 4 years' industry experience within a business unit required Experiential knowledge of what it takes to succeed in MBA-level internship and full-time positions in financial services, consulting, tech,or marketing, etc Exposure or experience within a corporate MBA recruiting function is a plus Strong team leader who is able to inspire superior results; supervisory experience is a must Excellent strategic thinking skills Exceptional project management skills Strong analytical and problem solving skills Excellent presentation, communication (oral and written), and interpersonal skills Must be able to travel & attend seminars ~2 weekends a year, as well as occasional evenings
