JOIN OUR NURSE VIRTUAL CHATS EACH THURSDAY FROM 2PM - 3PM Summary: Responsible and accountable for providing patient care within the Cardiac Testing and Cardiac Rehabilitation areas of Heart Care, under the supervision of the Cardiology Team Leader. The Cardiology RN will maintain the Cardiac Testing and Cardiac Rehabilitation Program's daily management and functions in the absence of the Cardiology Team Leader. Supports the philosophy of the Cardiology Department and Beebe Medical Center. Other information: Teaching experience/patient-teaching skills. At least 2 years nursing experience in critical care.Demonstrated effective interpersonal communication skills. Supports patient morale with positive attitude.Dysrhythmia recognition skills essential. Oral and written communication skills required. Responsibilities: Performs daily duties of the Non-Invasive Cardiology Supervisor and /or lead RN in his/her absence. Provides radiation safety to patient, staff and self according to prescribed standards. Maintains accurate, pertinent and timely nursing documentation. Provides written and/or verbal patient progress reports to PCP as needed and at program completion. Implements, monitors, documents and evaluates patient & individualized exercise prescription. Knowledgeable regarding technical equipment in specialty areas. Evaluates the patients environmental, psychosocial and educational support system and provides collaborative input into the discharge plan. The nursing care plan reflects individual patient needs. Maintains controlled drug inventory according to prescribed drug policy. Assures that crash carts are accurately supplied and dated. Recognizes emergency situations and can initiate code procedures or administer first aide or CPR as needed. Prepares & administers contrast media or medications according to policy. Rotates in an on-call status. Conducts interviews with assigned patients to include a nursing history and cardiovascular assessment. Actively participates in performance improvement process to include evaluating, reporting and follow-up recommendations. Credentials: Essential: * RN - Registered Nurse * BLS - Basic Life Saving certification Competencies and skills: Essential: * Experience In Hospital Or Acute Care Setting * Clear Communication Skills Both Written And Verbal * Able To Keep Confidential Information Regarding Patients, Team Members * Able To Withstand Crisis Situations * Has Skills To Provides Customer Service To Patients, Team Members And Visitors * Knowledge And Experience With Electronic Health Records Education: Essential: * RN Diploma/RN Graduate Program Location: Hospital-Main Campus Shift : FTE: 0.500000 Work Status: Part Time
