If you are the chosen candidate, you will be responsible for supervising the Portfolio Administration function and staff which is primarily charged with the coordination and servicing of commercial loans. Duties include coordination of team activities with Portfolio Administrators (PA s), Portfolio Manager (PM), Market Leader (ML), Relationship Managers (RM) and Senior Credit Officer (SCO). Has a firm understanding of Loan Policy and complex legal issues related to loan documentation and the loan closing process.Areas of focus:* Management of Portfolio Administration (20%)Responsible for a segment of the Bank''s administration and review activities to ensure that approved loans adhere to existing policy guidelines, that documentation is adequate to ensure security of collateral, and that ongoing administration and review is adequate to maintain the loan portfolio''s quality. Through a strong understanding of the workflow, directs the Portfolio Administrators and Commercial Lending Service Coordinators in resolving administration issues and is tasked with ensuring that the PA portion of the loan closing process is done efficiently and accurately to promote deal flow in the loan closing process. In addition, provide support to PA s throughout the loan process and in the areas of overdraft management and the collection of current and past due payments. Actively collaborate with Portfolio Group Manager to resolve challenges and maintain strong overall knowledge of PA capacity in their respective region.* Loan Closing/ Processing (40%)Understands credit risks and is able to structure non-complex commercial loans with little supervision. Has a firm understanding of loan policy. Able to understand complex legal issues as it pertains to real estate collateral; ability to research and understand implications of liens; judgments, tax sales, chain of title, encroachments, easements and lawsuits; well versed in other issues such as environmental due diligence. Interacts at a high level with Bank appointed counsel and is effective with minimal supervision. Assists RM with coordinating closings for new and renewed loans; Interfaces directly with the borrower and attorneys as needed to assemble additional supporting information and due diligence required for closing; prepares boarding sheet for attorney prepared loans; With RM, reviews internally and attorney prepared loan documents for accuracy and first review of title work; Under the direction of the RM, prepares commitment letters for laser pro documented loans and forwards to RM for review; orders environmental reports and evaluations/ appraisals; Requests field exams; Prepares adverse action letters, closing instruction letters; attends commercial closings when needed; Sends all decline/ withdrawn files to File Management.* Maintenance and Servicing (15%)Assist RM in managing complex relationships including, but not limited to, Commercial & Industrial loans (C&I), Not for Profits loans, loan participations, government contractors and construction financing, etc. Collaborates with PA''s, RMs and Portfolio Managers (PMs) to maintain the quality of credit files and to monitor the Document Exception Tickler Reports for loans assigned to the Region; interfaces directly with borrowers as needed to collect pending exception information in concert with the RM. Collaborating with RM/PM team members to manage loan delinquencies and/or future payoffs. For loans approved in the field, Administrator is responsible for making sure signed approvals and executed documents are scanned to a shared client file and to create an electronic credit and documentation file. Assists Relationship Manager by collecting fee income related to bank charges as well as charges related to services rendered by outside parties. PA is responsible for monitoring the Coming Due Letter of Credit report, coordinating with the RM to extend or close.* Leadership (15%)Provide coaching, training and assistance for direct reports and other commercial and credit team members to develop knowledge, skills and abilities to maximize performance and potential. Document performance and complete performance review forms in a timely manner. Complies with all aspects of performance management to include establishing annual goals and performance objectives for each team member and conducting regular documented performance reviews (1:1s) and annual, documented performance appraisals. In addition, the CLSC-TL will be responsible for the team''s professional development and through ongoing performance evaluations, identify areas of professional growth and in response, relevant training opportunities. Collaborates with the Portfolio Group Manager regarding resource management within the region as needed as well as to ensure equitable workflow among the PA team members. Addresses personnel issues promptly and consistently. Ability to lead a team through a fast paced/high volume environment with the ability to resolve challenges, communicate clearly and foster a positive environment with a focus on professional development as well as accountability.* Client Contact/ Engagement (10%)Interacts as a key Relationship Partner with all Bank Clients, participates in joint business calls with RM/PM teams, all on an as needed basis. Maintains a high level of professionalism and courtesy with clientele and internal partners at all times.* Other duties as may be assigned.Required Skills:* Position requires a broad level of professional experience in related field with a minimum of 10 years work experience in commercial lending support; knowledge of commercial loan documentation and lending principles. Supervision experience required.* Ability to utilize standard PC based software to prepare correspondence, reports and other documents as needed.* Excellent communication skills needed to effectively work with diverse groups of internal/external clients to explain products and interpret policy.* The highest level of challenge management skills is required; situations require operational knowledge of the work and the unit, which may involve a range of possible solutions to challenges.* Work is under minimal supervision, where the work requires independent judgment in the interpretation of existing policies and procedures and the selection of alternative procedures and work routines.
