Summary: The Warehouse Worker is responsible for safely and accurately operating a variety of material handling equipment for the purposes of moving, locating, relocating, stacking, order selection, checking, shipping and receiving food products. Certain activities may not be performed on every shift. Employees must be able to maintain the expected work pace, work accurately and meet minimum productivity guidelines established by MTC. The employee works in cold and freezer areas of a warehouse and may be exposed to one environment for long periods of time. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: . Load and unload freight using MHE equipment in an efficient and safe manner. . Move product to storage areas with proper equipment. Efficiently stack and safely store product in the designated area ensuring product counts match the driver manifest. Check all shipments for damage, infestation, and production code dates. Report shortages, damages, and misplacements to your immediate supervisor for proper handling. . Pick orders for shipment and assemble various types of products to be shipped ensuring the exact number and type of product in loaded and shipped. Make sure product comes from the proper locations and the lot numbers agree to the picking documents. Order selection must be completed efficiently and accurately in order to meet and maintain customer service level standards. Must be able to read and interpret work orders for product specifications and customer needs. . Check or count freight for accuracy and/or damage. . Conduct operations in a manner, which promotes a safety culture and increases safety awareness. Promptly report all safety malfunctions on equipment. Comply with OSHA standards. . Must be able to consistently meet production standards without compromising warehouse safety and customer quality. . Follow attendance policy, show up for work on time and ready to work assigned shift. . Responsible for charging and/or changing the MHE battery. . As directed by management, perform labeling, sorting, wrapping packing and repacking of products. . Other duties may be assigned to fulfill MTC's objectives. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: The employee must be proficient in English and basic math skills. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. One year of previous warehouse experience operating a reach lift truck is preferred. JDA experience is preferred, if none must become proficient within six months on the job. Experience as a certified powered industrial truck (PIT) operator is preferred; if none, must be able to pass certification within 90 days on the job. Employee must be able to be certi fied for PIT operation by MTC. Demonstration of proficiency for warehouse management computers, RF guns and handheld skills is needed. Must be self-motivated and work with minimal supervision. Work Environment: The work environment is indoors, and the employee may be exposed to cold room or freezer temperatures. There may be an extensive duration of time spent in cold and/or freezer temperatures. There is moderate noise level in warehouse environments with occasional to frequent honking of power jacks and forklifts for safety. PPE and clothing for freezer environment may be necessary. Work Hours: The work schedule is either 5 days a week, 8 hours a day, or 4 days a week, 10 hours a day. Start times vary. Work hours and shifts are subject to change depending on operating business conditions and needs. The employee may be required to work overtime, holidays or weekends. Physical and Mental Demands: Medium,exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force is required occasionally, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force frequently to move and place product when re-palletizing items. This job also requires constant standing. The employee must know and follow proper safety protocols, MTC grooming, hygiene and dress code requirements; know and apply temperature sensitive protocols when staging, transporting goods and prioritizing workflow, including follow sequencing or order directions.
