Responsibilities

The following are the duties of this position at the CN-51, broadly equivalent to the GS-11. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
  • Work with other administrative staff, ensures all operational and administrative functions adequately serve the needs of the office/division staff. Monitor and asses administrative policy, operations and procedures throughout office/division. Manage and coordinates integration and synchronization of certain staff actions, tasks, events and other activities within office/division and Bureau-level offices, as assigned. Communicate with and inform stakeholders about processes, options, and parameters of operational and administrative function, ensuring that approach meets with real needs.
  • Execute, monitor, and track progress of services and resource administration processes and tasks for office/division. Provide regular updates of status for various operational services and resources administration areas and identifying potential problem areas and opportunities. Recommend actions to stakeholders to resolve variances.
  • Gather data and prepare reports and tables for use in quarterly reporting, annual budget formulation process, and other oversight functions. Contribute to financial reports and spreadsheets for use in responding to inquiries from all levels of the CFPB, and outside sources.

  • Qualifications

    You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
    Specialized Experience For the CN-51, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the CN-40 grade level in the Federal service. (For qualification purposes, the CN-40 is broadly equivalent to the GS-9 Specialized experience for this position includes:
    • Managing or supporting projects that impact multiple business units AND
    • Scheduling, planning, organizing, and executing office-wide events (e.g., All Hands meetings, orientations, training sessions, etc.); AND
    • Providing administrative support covering at least three of the following areas of operations: travel management, space/facilities management, on-boarding and off-boarding, supply management, and timekeeping; AND
    • Collecting, compiling, and/or tracking data and statistical information in support of office operations; AND
    • Preparing written communications to enhance understanding of and compliance with office policies and procedures

    OR
    Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related.

    OR
    You may qualify on a combination of education and experience. To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the requirement must equal at least 100 percent. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 18 semester hours (27 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education

    Specialized Experience For the CN-40, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the CN-30 grade level in the Federal service. (For qualification purposes, the CN-30 is broadly equivalent to the GS-7 Specialized experience for this position includes:
    • Managing or supporting projects that impact multiple business units; AND
    • Collecting and tracking qualitative or quantitative data in support of office operations; AND
    • Preparing written communications.
    OR
    Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related.

    OR
    You may qualify on a combination of education and experience. To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the requirement must equal at least 100 percent.

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
    • A one-year probationary period may be required.
