The Growth Team is dedicated to supporting the departments goals of driving aggressive digital subscription growth and optimize channel expenses to sustain the print subscription base. This team is responsible for driving all subscription types (print and digital) for 200+ local Gannett markets and USA Today. This team owns and manages the media expenses across multiple acquisition channels (print & digital), and collaborates with key internal departments to manage onsite assets, meter optimization strategy, checkout experiences as well as platforms and payment options to drive conversions. The Growth Lead will be responsible for driving the growth plans and subscriptions for our national verticals (Sports, Crossword, etc.). This role will be responsible for conceptualizing the optimization strategies, collaborate with the paid digital channel leads for off-platform paid media optimization, collaborate with internal stakeholders and partners on building a lead pipeline, identifying tactics to drive lift in conversions across the board - through ongoing testing, experimentation and analytics. This role requires an in-depth knowledge of performance marketing and marketing strategy. The ideal candidate for this role will be a creative problem solver and be able to work collaboratively with stakeholders across Content, Product, Engineering, BI and Marketing. Duties and Responsibilities Lead mid to lower-funnel marketing efforts (onsite and paid off-platform initiatives) to drive growth for our product verticals (Sports, Crossword, etc.) Lead strategic channel expansion and funnel conversions through robust experimentation across channels and onsite optimization efforts by leveraging customer insights, A/B testing and creative optimization across the funnel Collaborate with key stakeholders across multiple departments (Extended marketing team, Content, Brand, BI, Lifecycle Marketing, Product, and all internal business stakeholders) to develop and communicate campaign strategies, plans, and assets. Develop and monitor robust KPIs and performance metrics across all channels Effectively communicate performance and metrics throughout the organization with frequent analysis and key metrics using both internal tracking systems and publisher platforms such as Google Analytics, Tableau, Google Data Studio, JIRA, Confluence, etc. Evaluate and advise on the use of new technologies, tactics, benchmarking trends and competitor data to stay at the forefront of growth/performance marketing best practices Work closely with Product and Engineering, UX, Brand and the Newsroom to identify business requirements and request additional functionality from the Product team. Qualifications Required Qualifications include: 10-15 years experience in performance marketing with a strong focus on CRO and paid digital channels A proven track record in developing growth strategy, results oriented and focused on desired business outcomes D2C experience required. Subscription based experience is a must. Expertise understanding, measuring, and reporting on incrementality & attribution Proficiency with using analytics tools, ability to analyze data and make sound recommendations as needed Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to deliver high-quality written and verbal content Ability to thrive in an ambiguous, fast-paced setting without ready made processes BA/BS required, MBA is a plus Gannett Co., Inc. is a proud equal opportunity employer.
