* Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and current RN licensure in the State of Maryland. * CPR Certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross - equivalent to Healthcare Provider BLS) * ACLS preferred * Two years recent experience in acute care setting. * Must work 6 - 12 hour shifts over a 6 week scheduling period * 2 shifts must be scheduled on a weekend * Must work 2 holidays and 2 hard to fill shifts (one summer, one winter) per year. * May be assigned to work in the following departments: * Emergency Department * Critical Care * Telemetry * Telemetry Observation * 4th floor MedSurg (Ortho/Neuro) * 3rd floor MedSurg (Oncology) * 2 East MedSurg Observation * This position exists to assume principle responsibility under general supervision, for the total care, assessment, implementation and evaluation of each patient assigned to the Patient Care Unit either directly and/or through leadership of personnel. * He/she develops and/or revises a plan of care. Initiates healthcare training and education to the patient and/or patient''s family to facilitate recovery. * Utilizes principles of teaching and learning to assist patients, staff and self in the identification of the need for new knowledge and skills.
