Our work is increasingly important in a world that depends on well-coordinated, interference-free spectrum access.This position will support the NAVAIR AA15100 - Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) Aircraft Division at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, MD in the performance of E3 Systems Engineering and Electromagnetic Compatibility for all naval aircraft, support equipment, and weapons systems.ResponsibilitiesApplies E3 engineering principles to plan, design, and implement tests for Navy avionic systems and Naval airborne platforms and weaponsReviews manufacturer test plans and test reports for adherence to Navy test requirementsAttends and witnesses' tests of Naval avionic systems and airborne platforms and weapons to ensure E3 requirements are properly defined and implementedPrepares engineering and technical reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation. Applies engineering experience to perform functions such as system integration and qualification testingManages schedules, laboratory space, test equipment, and test personnel to assure test and evaluation schedules are metPosition requires hand-on test experience, preferably in MIL-STD-461 testing of avionics systems and communication, navigation, and sensor systems. However general qualification and certification test experience will be considered if applicable. Familiarity with laboratory test automation software and experience with automated data processing software programs is considered a plusPosition requires travel to California and Iowa to witness testing two or three times each yearQualificationsKnowledge of engineering principles, methods, and techniques within a specific area of expertiseKnowledge of relevant tools, equipment, hardware, and softwareEffective organization level communication, presentation and interpersonal skillsKnowledge of Microsoft Office suite programs, MS Word, Excel and PowerPointBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or PhysicsTwo or more years of experience in an E3 engineering position.US Citizenship and a DoD Secret security clearance #LI-JK1*CJSecurity Clearance: Secret
