Experis, we have an exciting opportunity for a Lead LAN Engineer/Security Architect-Remote for a long term contract with a large Telecom client. You'll need to have:BSc or BEng degree in Computer Science or related field or work experience equivalent, Ten+ years of experience within global enterprise network engineering and other data communications fields.Strong background in Enterprise networks and Networking/Internetworking devices, protocols and operating systems.Architecture, design, and development of end to end Networking Solutions for Verizon customers (Cisco, Juniper, HPe Aruba, Riverbed).Professional or higher level industry certifications within the network engineering field such as CCNP, JNCIP (any track), CCIE.Demonstrated expertise in network design -ability to lead a LAN design-related discussion with leading questions to fully vet a customer's requirements and develop a proposed design fulfilling said requirements, identify potential impacts of a given design recommendation, knowledge of other technologies and their network requirements/impact, ability to produce comprehensive yet understandable technical documentation (design document, diagrams, etc.)Possess a deep understanding of network and web related protocols such as, HTTP, HTTPS, TCP/IP, IPSEC, and other routing protocolsProvide capacity planning for all ISP, LAN and WAN bandwidth, network interconnect devices, and data centers. Also, monitor, reconfigure and tune network hardware.Proficient expertise documenting proposed designs on both HLD and LLD to be delivered to the clientDemonstrated knowledge of, and interest in, emerging technologies such SD-WAN, Network Transformation/Optimization, MEC and 5G with a focus on Enterprise use cases.The ability to prepare technical reports, client presentations, design documentation, and manuals.A willingness to travel to customer locations and work away from homeDoes not require direct supervision able to take high level direction and proactively move a project or internal initiative from start to finish with minimal assistance.Able to perform a wide variety of technical and organizational tasks and may lead or direct the work of others.Experience with the following:Enterprise level network implementations, in multiple industries, in addition to NFV and Software Defined servicesDemonstrated history of subject matter expertise within claimed specialty (IEs), for example: routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, RIP), L2 networks (RSTP, STP, 802.1x, 802.1Q, DHCP option 43 and 60), Transport (MPLS, DIAs, Cellular WAN and QoS, advanced configurations, etc.Demonstrated history of subject matter expertise within claimed specialty (IEs), for example: Access Layer, Distribution Layer and Core Layer, advanced configurations, to include and not limited to include (High Availability architectures, VTP, DHCP, Layer 2 Security, VLANs, Trunking protocols and re-distribution of routing protocols).Proficiency in Cisco and Fortinet firewalls.Communication Skills:Excellent writing skills and comfortable with presenting before large groups of peopleProficient in developing documentations of solution/configuration/operations in Visio and MS Office productsAbility to lead training and education relative to IPv6 technology, concepts and troubleshootingDetailed and through, consistent documentation skills for network diagrams, test plans and other related documentationAbility to create detailed documentations and test plansAbility to work well in a team.Certifications * CCNP or CCIE (preferred) or * Security CCNP * Juniper or equivalent Desired:CISSP - Engineer or Architect concentrationCheckpoint, or Juniper, or F5 firewalls or equivalentEven better if you have:MS a STEM focus (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) OR 8+ years of military service within a communications specialty (ie).Data collection, troubleshooting. Experience with software and application development, to include API integration.Experience with any of the following: WAN optimization, datacenter technologies (load balancers, datacenter switching, etc.), virtualization technologies and concepts (Hypervisors, orchestration, software defined datacenter, NFV, etc.), security appliances and concepts (firewalls, IPS/IDS, identity management, access controls, etc.)Implementation technical oversight, integration of DMVPN solutions into the macro network.Demonstrated history of subject matter expertise within claimed specialty (IEs), for example: LAN, advanced configurations, etc.Demonstrated expertise in solution design -ability to lead a design related discussion with leading questions to fully vet a customer's requirements and develop a proposed design fulfilling said requirements, identify potential impacts of a given design recommendation, knowledge of other technologies and their network requirements/impact, ability to produce comprehensive yet understandable technical documentation (design document, diagrams, etc.).Demonstrated communication and relational skills - able to form a trusted advisor relationship with a customer, able to listen and guide a technical discussion, able to clearly articulate complex topics.
