Drafts and negotiates contracts and counsels commercial team members. Provides legal advice and support, in alignment with the team's guiding principles and together with existing team members, across the full range of legal issues affecting a global renewable energy company and MLP, including procurement, construction, litigation, and intellectual property. Identifies and analyzes legal issues and risks, present clear recommendations, and ensures legal compliance across the full spectrum of legal issues facing the Company. Participates in establishing the Company's legal policies, goals, and objectives.Responsibilities* Primary responsibility for providing legal and contract support for procurement related matters.* Draft, negotiate and provide legal support and advice with respect to a wide variety of procurement contracts, ranging from routine to complex transactional matters and complicated construction contracts* Operate independently in a fast-paced and high-growth environment with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple matters simultaneously and effectively* Develop and improve tools, templates, and training to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the procurement process* Review, revise and issue a large volume of contracts under demanding time constraints* Identify and analyze legal issues and risks, review and draft legal agreements, and present clear recommendations.* Provide innovative, pragmatic, timely, and business-oriented legal counsel to internal clients and stakeholders in a positive and constructive manner* Work closely with the Procurement to build capable procurement team for a rapidly growing business* Work collaboratively with colleagues on complex legal matters* Promote the development, sharing, and replication of best practices and learnings across the Enviva Legal DepartmentQualifications* D. from an accredited law school; must be licensed to practice law in at least one state* 5 or more years' relevant experience with a top tier law firm representing clients in the traditional or renewable energy space, with at least 2 years of experience drafting and negotiating construction contracts* Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects with competing priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to change within a growing company* Exceptional attention to detail* Excellent written and oral communication and negotiation skills* Strong competency in drafting and negotiating a broad range of contracts* Demonstrated experience establishing credibility and rapport with senior management* Ability to bring practical and commercially oriented judgment to bear in solving legal problems* Ability to constructively challenge entrenched processes and influence change* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applicationsEEO StatementEnviva is dedicated to the principles of equal employment opportunity (EEO) in any term, condition or privilege of employment.
