PRIMARY FUNCTION:Analyzes and defines security initiatives that will help to protect and control CCHS all private, confidential data.Performs security audits and assists in defining and building security controls.Manages and maintains information security tools and technologies.Assists in responding to information security incident and requests.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Assists Director in development and establishment of strategic and tactical information security plans, standards/procedures, education and training programs.Identifies, evaluates, recommends, and implements enhancements to assigned systems, products and facilities as appropriate to the needs of the business.Keeps abreast of current security technologies and facilities (eg, security products, network and anti-malware technologies) as they become available and educates peers with knowledge obtained.Provides SIRT (Security Incident Response Team) problem resolution assistance and will coordinate investigation and resolution of security incidents. Will also provide off-hour on-call support for SIRT related issues.Works closely with information security staff to monitor, assess, update and improve plans and programs. (eg, SIRT Plan, Computer Service Interruption Plans, Disaster Recovery Plans and program, Security Strategy)Develops and publishes Information Security policies, standards and procedures, based on knowledge of industry best practices, compliance requirements and regulations, as well as in accordance with Christiana Care's environment and processes and mission.Performs vulnerability scans, penetration tests, self audits, patch management reviews, as well as, security and risk assessments. Manages remediation plans and task lists resulting from security-based audits, scans and reviews.Coordinates responses to information security incidents, internal and external audits, and departmental and corporate exercises and drills.Creates, manages and maintains Information Technology department staff security awarenessCollaborates with IT leadership, Risk Management and Public Safety to manage information security vulnerabilities.Identifies and pursues opportunities for the continuing professional development of self to enableincreased understanding of the various Christiana Care functions and how new information technology can be applied at Christiana CareAssists the Director in other related duties as assigned.SCOPE, PURPOSE, AND FREQUENCY OF CONTACTS:Contact with all levels of Christiana Care employees, vendors, and IS support staff and management.DIRECTION/SUPERVISION OF OTHERS:NoneDIRECTION/SUPERVISION RECEIVED:Director, Information TechnologyEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science based area or Engineering or 5 years experience consistent with the Information Security Analyst job responsibilities.Graduate work in business areas is desirable, but not essential.A minimum of three years of experience in Information Services.Should be functioning without close supervision within a three month period.KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:Ability to absorb material from trade publications, academic and industry sources.Ability to quickly acquire broad hospital functional knowledge.Ability to assume responsibility and to work flexible hours on a limited basis.Ability to deal with specialists in a significant number of functional areas.Ability to identify and evaluate advanced vendor software packagesAbility to learn and apply new information security based software tools.Ability to stay up-to-date in information security technologies.Ability to use various computer types and models to perform duties.Knowledge of departmental policies, procedures, and operations.Knowledge of project management techniques.Skill in analyzing and interpreting intermediate user problemsSkill in developing intermediate proposals for information security hardware and software.Skill in identifying key or important elements of the assignment, anticipating potential problems and taking steps to avoid them.Skill in presenting technical information to a variety of audiencesSkill in questioning techniques.Skill in telephone communications and public relations.Skill in written and verbal communication.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:NonePHYSICAL DEMANDS:Lifting and carrying of personal computer and printer equipment.WORKING CONDITIONS:Potential to be working in any area within the Hospitals or other Christiana Care locations.
