Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS), Space and Launch Division, is seeking a Lead Systems Design Analyst (Level 4) to support the team in Herndon, VA. The Space and Launch Team creates the next generation products and services for the BDS business unit. We work with proprietary customers in the development of the next-generation technologies in space. Our team focuses on rapid prototyping to demonstrate a host of mission-focused technologies for a variety of customers. Our group works all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, proposal writing, requirements and design, build, integration, test, and demonstration of products in their relevant environments. Position Overview: The Lead Systems Design Analyst will be a part of a high-performing team that are immersed in high intensity development projects. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to support our cloud enviroment. This role will focus on documentation, implementation, design, administration of cloud architecture. Primary Responsibilities: System Architecture and design; product evaluation and selection. Monitor system performance to support capacity planning. Maintain awareness of and participate in planning and execution of upgrades and patches for operating systems and COTS software. Plan and migrating an existing dedicated operational environment into a cloud-based architecture. Evaluate required security controls and defining/implementing products/processes/procedures to be compliant. Evaluate the results of various security scans and developing mitigation approaches or waiver requests. Evaluate, communicate, and mitigate computing and operational issues when operating in a cloud based environment. Document system designs, procedures and training materials. Work Authorization: This position requires an active US Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance with poly (US Citizenship Required). (A US Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active). Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or physics from an ABET accredited program and/or equivalent work experience. 1 year or more of experience in supporting and/or working on any cloud related technology or solutions. Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), including readiness, provisioning, security and governance. Experience working with Complex Combinatorial Optimization, Networks and Multi server architectures, Cloud Technologies, Linux and Scripting. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Experience with cloud certifications. Experience with Linux, Window, Virtualization, Containers, Networking, Configuration Management, Documentation, Jira, and Confluence, Typical Education/Experience: Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's with 7 or more years' experience or PhD with 4 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Relocation: This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
