Commercial Real Estate - Director, Small Loans

Our Multifamily Agency Finance Team is one of the largest originators of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and FHA loans, supported by over 200 associates and generating close to $10 billion in loan production. The Capital One SBL platform is in a strong growth mode to generate $750MM in volume in 2021 - 2022

This position will be responsible for managing small balance transactions, both Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, working with internal and external stakeholders, including borrowers, brokers, originators, underwriters, asset managers and closers to review, size, structure and manage the overall execution of Small Balance transactions.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide customer management of transactions sourced through various existing internal and external relationships
  • Implement efficiencies to ensure transactions are executed in a timely manner
  • Manage transactions generated from the Capital One existing SBL portfolio
  • Work with originators to pre-screen, size and structure potential SBL transactions
  • Represent Capital One at industry events
  • Participate in the SBL underwriting and closing process to ensure that customer needs are met consistent with Capital One's process and procedures
  • Provide product leadership for the Small Balance product
  • Manage a team of 2-3 associates on the pre-screen team
  • Partner with underwriting and leadership to help shape SBL strategy and identify process enhancements


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Military Experience


Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 8 years of experience working in Freddie Mae and Fannie Mae underwriting or originations
  • Proficiency with Google suite or Microsoft Office products
