Senior Associate, Instructional Designer - Horizontal Tech

We are looking for a learning experience designer with a passion for evolving how our associates and People Leaders experience learning and development in Tech. This team member will work collaboratively with learning consultants, Tech subject matter experts, delivery leads, HR partners and more to research, design and develop enhanced learning experiences and courses. As a Learning Experience Designer on the team, you will play a role in transforming our culture of growth and development with human centered design and blended learning strategies. The learning solutions you develop will target diverse learners and include modalities such as video, animation, instructor-led training, peer to peer learning, simulations, and other e-learning content. You will be solving challenging problems, thinking creatively, and continuously be on the top of your game in a supportive environment where we put the learner first. Responsibilities:
  • Produce high quality, scalable soft skill learning experiences for Capital One Tech associates that can be measured against behavioral changes in associates' level of engagement and skill
  • Develop measurable learning objectives, facilitator and participant materials and tools, experiential scenarios (case studies) and simulations, assessment and evaluation questions
  • Work collaboratively with learning consultants, subject matter experts, internal communications specialists, designers and developers to ensure learning touchpoints (i.e., courses, communications, self-directed learning activities) are cohesive across the end-to-end experience.
  • Develop online learning solutions which are engaging and creative, while still maintaining the instructional integrity and validity of the solution
  • Add or edit basic multimedia assets to content, including: images, audio and video clips, and other graphical content
  • Support facilitation (as facilitator and/or producer) of learning with groups of varying participant size and level
  • Deliver learning completion reporting, analyze learner data and metrics, conduct user empathy, and leverage analytics best practices, to gather insights and trends and ensure those insights are taken into consideration when driving program delivery strategy

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or Military experience
  • At least 3 years of instructional design or at least 3 years of UX design or a combination of both


Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 1 year of experience using the latest design software and tools for rapid prototyping including Articulate Rise, Balsalmiq, Sketch, Invision, Adobe CC, Video Software or HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • At least 1 year of experience working within an agile approach
  • At least 2 years of experience in training design, development and delivery experience
  • At least 2 years of experience leveraging design thinking and human centered design methodologies to solve problems
  • Experience in adult learning theory
