Principal Associate - Project Management - Model Risk PMO

Our Model Risk Governance and Operations team is seeking a dedicated, disciplined, and high energy project management professional who excels in a team environment. This professional will have excellent communication skills, an acute attention to detail, a keen ability to multitask, an ability to learn model risk, and will adapt to change quickly. The environment is fast-paced, with work that is critical to model risk management across Capital One. Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess a high level of self-awareness, strong attention to detail, and a passion for automation.

General Responsibilities:

-Provide project management support to model risk leadership and their teams - managing project plans and a variety of tasks, controls, and internal/external requests to drive timely execution and continuous improvement

- Support our model risk Stress Testing process/project by managing several tasks including the stress test model inventory, model validation project plans, effective challenge forum materials, reporting, and other critical tasks

- Partner with project customers to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership to effectively drive project delivery

- Forge relationships with key stakeholders to ensure delivery of commitments

- Identify and implement process improvements and drive issue resolution or risk mitigation activities, with a focus on automation

- Identify and utilize technology solutions to better drive efficiency and effectiveness

- Demonstrate outstanding communication and partnership skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders across all levels to manage, inform, and influence outcomes

- Demonstrate organizational agility to adapt to changing demands

- Coordinate work between multiple areas while working on multiple projects simultaneously; leveraging / influencing business partners to drive results

-Facilitate internal meetings involving a variety of internal and external stakeholders

- Collect data and information and report to provide transparency to senior leadership and executives

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Military experience
  • At least 5 Years Project Management experience


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters / MBA degree
  • At least 7 years of Project Management experience
  • PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong problem solving and influencing skills
  • Work experience achieving results
