The Manager, MRI - Radiology Operations will provide leadership and oversight of modalities and functional areas within the Division of Diagnostic Imaging and Radiology. Will ensure efficient operations, safe equipment utilization, motivational staff leadership, excellent customer service, successful regulatory compliance, and effective fiscal management.


Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree- Required

Minimum Work Experience
3 years- At least 3 years of experience in radiology- Required

Prefer leadership experience within hospital-based radiology department. - Preferred

Required Certifications- The successful candidate will possess one of the three registrations listed below:

Registered Radiography Technologist (ARRT)- Required - Upon Hire OR

Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - Required- Upon Hire OR

Registered/Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist - Required Upon Hire

Functional Accountabilities

Operations Management
1. Develop and implement staffing plans to meet operational needs of each modality or program.
2. Oversee patient schedules in partnership with radiology IT and patient access.
3. Ensure safe and efficient patient flow.
4. Assist director to manage equipment service and upkeep of physical plant.
5. In conjunction with director and physicist, lead projects related to new equipment selection, installation planning, and implementation.
6. Work in tandem with radiologists and physicist to obtain excellence in image quality and protocol adherence.
7. Lead or participate in LEAN programs aimed to improve process and workflow.

Customer Service
1. Model excellent customer service behavior to ensure family-friendly care within each modality or program.
2. Hold staff accountable to provide warm, friendly, and caring customer service.
3. Work to improve patient access by monitoring wait times and turnaround times.
4. Understand and track referring department and referring provider trends; plan and implement programs to increase referrals in partnership with radiologists.
5. Ensure excellent customer service to referring departments and providers.
6. Provide service recovery when needed.

Fiscal Management
1. Participate in all aspects to create, monitor, and achieve operating budget targets in conjunction with director.
2. Order supplies or delegate ordering of supplies and manage inventory in a cost-effective manner.
3. Assist director with capital budgets.
4. Manage labor expenses and provide variance reporting as requested.
5. Assist director to manage equipment service and vendors

Regulatory Management
1. Follow all organizational policies and procedures and hold staff accountable for same.
2. Audit or sweep departments to ensure compliance with regulatory rules.
3. Keep updated on regulatory changes and implement new policies or processes when necessary.
4. Assist director and physicist with inspection preparedness as it pertains to multiple regulatory agencies.
5. Follow-up on safety events in a thorough and timely fashion.
