Summary
The incumbent functions as a Grants Specialist (Policy) in the Office of the Secretary for Transportation (OST), Senior Procurement Executive, Financial Assistance Policy and Oversight and assists with the development of Department-wide policies and guidance for financial assistance; data collections with grants offices, including analyzing information for Department responses; managing Department activities pertaining to grants; and providing assistance to grants and program office staff.

Grants Management Specialist:
- Plays a major role, or takes the lead, on data collection activities for annual and/or ad hoc requests and maintains information on current reporting requirements and processes.
- Compiles information from internal grant-making agencies when a departmental response is required, and conducts required data analyses.
- Provides technical assistance on grants administration regulations and policies to grants and program offices.
- Develops presentations, and facilitation of internal workgroups, conferences and meetings. Researches, and analyzes data from multiple sources.
- Interprets and applies financial assistance legislation, regulations, policies, and processes to organization-wide policy and guidance.
- Assists with the development of policy and guidance documents for the administration of grants and cooperative agreements.
