Summary

This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Financial Management Division, Office of Administration.

This position(s) primary purpose is to support the Office of Administration. As a Management and Program Analyst an individual will be responsible for providing analysis and evaluation of the effectiveness of the office programs and operations.

Responsibilities

As a your typical work assignments may include:
  • Serves as an expert on operations issues and activities.
  • Analyzes and evaluates programs and interprets new legislation or regulations to determine appropriate changes and corrective action required.
  • Develops mid and long-range plans for program operations and changing priorities.
  • Develops procedures and systems for establishing, operating, and assessing the effectiveness of administrative control systems.
  • Maintains program related policy manuals and procedural handbooks.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the Basic Requirement AND Specialized Experience requirements as noted below. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Qualification claims will be subject to verification.

You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying specialized experience equivalent 0343, 14 . Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience for this position includes:

1.) Providing analysis and evaluation of the effectiveness of programs, operations, productivity and efficiency of business processes
2.) Overseeing policy implmentation
3.) Performing quality control analysis on processes and policies

Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-14 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-13. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement.
