This position is located in the Division of Finance of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in the areas of researching new and emerging technologies and making
recommendations to management regarding their potential application in business processes.

  • Contributes to the development of business processes and related information technology solutions utilizing approved, program, project, and content management platforms.
  • Contributes to the development of cyclical and ad-hoc management reports, to include business intelligence dashboards, incorporating both financial and non-financial data.
  • Serves as a liaison regarding all matters pertaining to the management of CFOO's content placed on the FDIC's Internet and FDICnet servers through the use of information technology. Incumbent also serves as point of contact regarding the release of CFOO information for internal and external publication.
  • Serves as a liaison at the project level between CFOO business line staff and the CIOO staff. Coordinate with other FDIC Divisions/Offices, as appropriate, to improve and maximize efficiencies and consistency.
  • Prepares reports, briefings and other presentations for CFOO management on the status of assigned projects and new technologies.

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG-09 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience supporting information technology projects including designing, testing, implementing and monitoring systems and applications; hands-on SharePoint development, to include workflows, integrating content, including permission structures and administering design changes for SharePoint; utilization of Tableau for data visualization and management reporting dashboards; and supporting development of web content, to include integration of applications and implementation of web pages based on defined user requirements.

OR successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR a combination of experience and education.

5. Ability to communicate orally to staff and management, of all levels, for the purpose of gathering information, reporting findings, developing policy, making recommendations and gaining consensus among divergent opinions and objectives.

6. Ability to communicate in writing to staff and management, of all levels, for the purpose of gathering information, reporting findings, developing policy, making recommendations and gaining consensus among divergent opinions and objectives.
