You will serve as an Administrative Specialist in the Office of Strategic Infrastructure within the Mission Support Directorate.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts studies and develops recommendations using the application of appropriate methodologies.
  • Develops organizational administrative, travel and supplies budget and maintains associated financial records.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains organizational records.
  • May lead and/or serve on teams as the subject matter specialist/representative or expert as appropriate.
  • Plans, directs and/or coordinates administrative work which requires the application of the knowledge of administrative or management subject matter or program areas.
  • Prepares final administrative and management reports.
  • Resolves a range of administrative issues or problems that require the application of logical thinking in order to break down the problem into its component parts.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for employees within the work unit regarding administrative information, issues, and problem resolution.

Qualifications

You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade, which has equipped you with the particular competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position described above.

To qualify for GS-09 level, you must have:
a) One year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level that includes analytical ability, judgment, discretion, and knowledge of a substantial body of administrative or program principles, concepts, policies, objectives and qualitative and/or quantitative methods; demonstrates understanding of the principles, concepts, policies, and objectives applicable to Agency and Center administration; demonstrates skill in analytical, research, writing, and judgment typically recognized by substantial, responsible experience; demonstrates ability to analyze and recommend solutions to issues involving broader specializations including their impact on the organizational area; conducts fact-finding interviews with supervisors and employees to obtain information about organizational functions and work procedures; and maintains computerized databases or information tracking systems.
OR
b) Completed all requirements for a master's or equivalent graduate degree in an appropriate field
OR
c) Completed 2 full academic years of progressively higher graduate education in an appropriate field; or LL.B or J.D, if related
OR
d) Have an equivalent combination of experience and graduate study as discussed in a), b) and c) above.
