Summary

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Director, Space Force Cryptologic Office (SFCO), responsible for interpreting and implementing policies, executing authorities, developing guidance, standards, and processes for the organization's mission.

Responsibilities

  • As SFCO Director, organizes and oversees the end-to-end processes and programs across SFCO, providing headquarters management for the cryptologic enterprise via highly matrixed relationships.
  • Provides technical direction and guidance on operational issues, program development, strategy, emerging system capabilities, system acquisitions programs, and force development issues.
  • Provides expert technical evaluation, direction, and input to the development of resource program submissions, to include the Consolidated Cryptologic Program (CCP), Military Intelligence Program (MIP), Information Systems Security (continued)
  • Programs (ISSP), and the National Reconnaissance Program (NRP).
  • Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.

  • Incumbent is required to undergo a counter-intelligence polygraph examination and periodic reexaminations. Additionally, incumbent must meet and maintain NSA/CSS security suitability standards as an inherent primary requirement of their position
  • Mobility is a condition of employment. The employee must sign a U.S. Space Force-wide mobility agreement
  • Key: The duties of this position meet all requirements as a Category 4 designation, and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the parent Federal Agency or (continued)
  • office to function effectively. This position must be removed from the Ready Reserve and CAN NOT become a member of the Ready Reserve (IAW DoDD 1200.7, "Screening the Ready Reserve").
  • Overtime may be required as workload demands and in some cases with no-notice due to urgency of time sensitive matters
  • Incumbent must possess and maintain a valid state driver?s license. While attending meetings and conducting required coordination with national-level counterparts, incumbent will be required to travel throughout the metropolitan Washington, D.C. area

Qualifications

This is a GG-15 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-15 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Expert" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-15 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include:knowledge of program goals and objectives, the sequence and timing of key operational events and milestones, and methods of evaluating the effectiveness of planning actions as related to actual events; and knowledge of a comprehensive range of signals intelligence research and collection methods, techniques, and practices to use multi-source intelligence information systems to capture data in order to make recommendations in developing intelligence capabilities, new hypotheses and theories, and threat assessments. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

1. Knowledge of the national intelligence community, cryptologic enterprise, Joint, DoD structure, organizations and mission/functions, inter-relationships, and operations.
2. Knowledge of National and Military Service program goals and objectives, the sequence and timing of key operational events and milestones, and methods of evaluating the effectiveness of planning actions as related to actual events.
3. Knowledge of a comprehensive range of signals intelligence research and collection methods, techniques, and practices to use multi-source intelligence information systems to capture data in order to make recommendations in developing intelligence capabilities, new hypotheses and theories, and threat assessments.
4. Skill in communicating effectively with others, both orally and in writing; in working out solutions to problems or questions related to the work; writing clear and concise intelligence products; and delivering written and/or verbal presentations to senior-level audiences for decision-making purposes.
5. Ability to maintain control of classified material; quickly assimilate disparate data; render knowledgeable and accurate assessments of the implication of such data; make decisions, estimates, and recommendations under conditions of urgency and pressure based on mature judgment and experience; and present and/or justify a position effectively.
6. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
