We are looking to hire a roofing and general laborer. Roofing experience is a plus. These are commercial projects located in the Baltimore/Washington DC/Patuxent River area. All applicants must have their own personal vehicle, and be ready to work hard outside for 40+ hours a week. Pay will be weekly for employee convenience and there is no one week delay. Additional responsibilities: + Checking to ensure that completed roofs are watertight + Sweeping and cleaning roofs to prepare them for the application of new roofing materials + Locating worn or torn areas in roofs + Covering roofs with layers of roofing felt or asphalt strips before installing tile, slate, or composition materials + Removing old roofing materials + Unloading materials and tools from work trucks, and unrolling roofing as directed + Placing tiles, nailing them to roof boards, and covering nail heads with roofing cement + Cleans work areas + Maintains tools and equipment. + Clear drains and downspouts; and clean gutters + Set ladders, scaffolds, and hoists in place for taking supplies to roofs + Provide assistance to skilled roofers installing and repairing roofs, flashing, and surfaces. Additional requirements: + Eagerness and willingness to learn and receive instruction/direction from supervisors + Strong working knowledge of job site safety and ability to learn + High standard of integrity and professionalism + Must be a US citizen due to access requirements from the government. + Must have drivers license and reliable transportation. + Must complete OSHA 10 training. + Must be able to travel out of town.
