Responsibilities of this position include: enter, post and reconcile batches, research and resolve customer A/R issues, prepare aging report, place billing and collection calls, maintain cash receipts journal, update, and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L. This is a long-term temporary Accounts Receivable Clerk position and is based in the Washington, District of Columbia area.Key responsibilities- Contact clients to help resolve payment issues; assist in setting up payment plans- Represent and exude the values, culture, and mission of the organization- Pinpoint delinquent customer accounts through various means, including skip-tracing, phone contact, written correspondence, and make arrangements for payment- Test documents and codes- Provide information, as requested to shippers, customers, the sales/marketing department and other stakeholders- Execute a number of foundational accounting tasks in agreement with normal procedures, including general accounting tasks- Process payments and compile segments of monthly closings and annual reports in compliance with GAAP- Reconcile bank accounts, posting and balancing financial data in various ledgersJob Requirements:- Established analytical skills in basic accounts receivable and accounting policy- Knowledgeable of ERP systems- Command of Accounts Receivable (AR)- Comprehensive knowledge of Construction Accounting- Strong familiarity with Coding- Proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills- AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field desired- 2+ years of relevant experience in accounts receivable- Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environmentAccountemps, a Robert Half Company, matches skilled accounting and finance professionals with remote or on-site jobs on a temporary and temporary-to-hire basis.
