Job Description Summary:The Information Architect supports the client by providing leadership and architectural direction to a Division's portfolio of products supported within the office. This position will focus on the required architecture and technical roadmap to help the Division's suite of products. The Architect will be responsible for establishing and implementing the architectural standards, policies, and procedures for all the Division's applications and will work with other Architects and stakeholders. This position is also responsible for researching new technologies, products, and standards incorporated into the client's suite of applications. The current technical environment is Microsoft and includes Microsoft SQL, .Net, Java, and mobile and web technologies.A' Roles & Responsibilities:Determining the system architecture to be used for each application with consideration given to such things as centralized versus decentralized servers, use of service-oriented architecture (SOA), designing nonfunctional elements of each system, eg, response time, system availability, backup requirements, and interface needs; and performing research into new technologies, products, and standards which can be incorporated into the client's applications.Assessing and meeting the security standards of each application as defined by the IT Security Office.Defining, implementing, documenting, and maintaining the solutions architecture roadmap, designs, procedures, standards, and metrics; and ensuring compliance and conformity of software architecture and technology standards.Defining, implementing, documenting, and maintaining the framework for system architecture design, software design and development, IT security, and performance testing platforms.Improving, continually, the solutions architecture process or code development efficiency through effective leadership, individual and group training, and process improvement.Working closely with other architects to ensure system design follows the industry best practices and standards that align with the client's framework.Providing regular status updates to senior management and in related status meetings through reports, dashboards, and presentations.Qualifications & Requirements:A' BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or other related scientific or technical discipline is required.MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or other related disciplines preferred. DoD 8140 compliance required.Position requires three to eight years of relevant experience supporting projects of similar size, scope and complexity.Due to the COVID-19 pandemic this position is mostly telework. Post pandemic this position will be mostly onsite with the option for some telework..Experience can be substituted for education.DoD 8140 compliance required.
