Description: Job Title: Delivery Driver / Warehouse Worker Location: Alexandria, VA Department: Operations Reports To: Warehouse Manager FLSA Status: Full-time or Part-Time and Non-exempt Hourly Pay: $16+ Job purpose The warehouse worker will receive and dispatch merchandise to and from our warehouse. The Warehouse Worker will load and unload outgoing and incoming delivery vehicles. You will select products from the warehouse, load and secure goods to pallets, move inventory to delivery area, and load merchandise. You will unload stock from delivery vehicles to customer locations, as well as to transport to and store in designated warehouse positions. You will keep your work environment clean and tidy at all times, and comply with all relevant safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Ensuring cleanliness, tidiness and safety of work environment. Loading and unloading delivery vehicles. Accepting delivery of inventory. Counting and confirming inventory. Inspecting inventory for damage and faults. Communicating errors to relevant parties. Marking and labeling stock. Storing inventory in accessible manner. Loading and wrapping stock on pallets. Building loads with forklift and electronic pallet jack. Ensuring cleanliness, tidiness and safety of work environment. Loading and unloading delivery vehicles. Accepting delivery of inventory. Requirements: Skills and Qualifications High school diploma, GED, or equivalent Work experience as general laborer, preferably in warehouse Demonstrable, varied experience as a Warehouse Driver. Customer-oriented, communicative, and efficient. Good driving history. DOT Certifiable Knowledgeable about relevant vehicle weight restrictions. Impeccable coordination techniques. 18 years of age or older. Working conditions Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment where exposure to moving mechanical parts, sharp cutting tools, dust, fumes and airborne particles, temperature extremes and elevated noise level. Must be available to work extended hours Physical requirements Heavy work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Climbing: Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. This factor is important if the amount and kind of climbing required exceeds that required for ordinary locomotion. Balancing: Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces. This factor is important if the amount and kind of balancing the amount and kind of balancing exceeds that needed for ordinary locomotion and maintenance of body equilibrium. Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full use of the lower extremities and back muscles. Kneeling: Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees. Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine. Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; those activities where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly. Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound.
