Sr. Manager, Risk Management, Access Management

As a Senior Risk Manager in Capital One's Retail Risk Office you will apply your project management and analytical skills to our highest profile Risk Management projects. You will lead a team of Risk Specialists responsible for working across the enterprise to develop and implement cutting edge Risk solutions to ensure Capital One's continued stability and success. Senior Risk Managers partner with Executives and their teams to identify potential Risks in an open, collaborative environment where new ideas and solutions are both welcomed and rewarded.

This role will primarily support the governance program development, program monitoring, and analysis of Access Management across the Retail Bank, including Audit and Regulatory commitments and engagement with Senior Leaders.

Responsibilities:
  • Strategic leadership: Develop business strategies that will drive risk mitigation, well managed focus, and competitive success for Capital One in the face of shifting consumer and regulatory demands
  • Effective leadership within a matrixed organization is critical
  • Execution: Manage and sequence delivery of business intent, build business requirements and execute against the strategy
  • Oversee multiple projects and programs concurrently
  • Partnership: Work closely with colleagues across Capital One including: IT, Customer Facing Leaders, Operations, Finance, Legal, Compliance and others to drive improvement in quality, risk position, and the bottom line
  • Strategic & analytic orientation: A proven track record of decision making and problem solving based on analytics
  • Conceptual thinking skills must be complemented by a strong quantitative orientation, given that a large part of the business is based on rigorous analytic risk management
  • Strong business judgment, leadership and integrity: Tenacious decision maker, able to bring a healthy, aggressive, yet responsible approach to business
  • Strong executive communication skills: Impeccable written and oral communication credentials, coupled with strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement and improvements through intellect, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Clear results orientation: display an intense focus on achieving both short and long term goals. He/she should be able to drive and execute an agenda in an uncertain and fluid environment
  • Successful track record of thriving in a fast paced, entrepreneurial and dynamic environment
  • Previous consulting experience is a plus


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience or at least 7 years of risk management experience
  • At least 3 year of access management or cyber experience
  • At least 5 years of Project Management experience
  • At least 7 years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal business clients
  • At least 2 years of people leadership experience


Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA or Master's degree
  • 7+ years of Project Management experience leading cross functional projects and programs in Risk
  • 7+ years of Financial Services risk management experience
  • Ability to set direction, manage expectations and lead cross-functional teams
  • 2+ years of experience with Tableau
