Position Overview:

Assessing, challenging and advising on infrastructure, platform, and software services as it relates to our architecture. You will help develop and further build our 2LOD oversight and credible challenge program for architecture and assist in the leadership of our 2LOD Technology Risk program. You will lead evaluations of the firms governance and approach to architecture within the firm. In addition, you will contribute to the identification and analysis of new or emerging technology risks to the enterprise, and aid in integrating cloud architecture practices with other risk management programs across the enterprise. Our Impact:

Our team works directly with business divisions and IT across the Enterprise to:
  • Provide oversight of business area specific risk identification, assessment, measurement, and monitoring as it relates to this domain
  • Develop and/or implement elements of the risk framework and risk methodologies
  • Provide oversight and effective challenge to reinforce and mature the risk framework at Freddie Mac


Your Impact:

Supporting the identification, measurement, assessment and monitoring of risks by:
  • Performing independent risk reviews of our architecture - focusing on our cloud, VMWare. Colo, and legacy environments
  • Evaluating technical solutions and architectures for automation, resiliency, performance, scalability, and security including appropriate tradeoffs, risks and opportunities
  • Owning the development of our oversight responsibilities for Architecture and providing leadership to other members of the Technology Risk team
  • Developing and producing risk reporting to senior management including, trend analysis, emerging risks, and mitigation strategies to address risk or control failure
  • Building and maintaining relationships with technical leaders, business owners, engineers and other partners to understand and evaluate implementation plans, business priorities and technical solutions to ensure risk are well communicated and understood by the key partners
  • Evaluate/assess complex technological and business environment migrations to the cloud and integrated end-to-end solution options


Qualifications:
  • Experience as an enterprise architect who has implemented resilient cloud applications and platform services on public cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure) and hybrid cloud environments
  • AWS Certified Professional Architect or other equivalent AWS certification
  • Experience applying control frameworks such as CSA-CSM, CIS, COSO, ITIL, COBIT and FedRAMP
  • Experience with micro-services architecture, TOGAF, cloud native architecture and 12 factor application architecture principles and implementation
  • Strong understanding of risk and corporate governance practices, and the functions of a three lines of defense risk management structure
  • Experience with identifying and communicating key risks related to cloud and hybrid implementations and architectures
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 12+ years of relatable risk management experience
