Senior Associate, Process Management- Risk Events / Issue Manager

The U.S. Card Partnerships team provides oversight of and support for private label credit card programs. The Risk Events Manager will support the discovery and remediation of breakdowns in operational systems and processes for retail partners.

The Risk Events Manager will guide business through Risk Events & Issues management process, including breakdown assessment, containment and remediation planning. Guide root cause analysis to ensure breakdown is fully understood for planning containment and remediation. Identifies process improvement opportunities including sustainable remediation. Develops and maintains all the required formal process documentation including procedures and process flow diagrams.
Effectively partners with business to achieve desired outcome or improvement by clarifying needs and providing appropriate solutions.

The U.S. Card Partnerships team provides oversight of and support for private label credit card programs. The Risk Events Manager will support the discovery and remediation of breakdowns in operational systems and processes for retail partners.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Manage multiple Risk Events and Issues through established processes to mitigate risk to the company and ensure optimal customer experience.
  • Drives investigation of root cause so that appropriate population impacts, containment and sustainable remediation are appropriately identified
  • Partner with Legal and Compliance to provide guidance to the business
  • Understands and utilizes all Risk Management tools, playbooks and systems to document the risk and resolution as required
  • Communicates status and updates to key stakeholders
  • Coordinates, influences and negotiates priorities with business teams
  • Ensures timelines are met and escalates when appropriate
  • Research and problem-solving as needed to support the business
  • Training and development of others as necessary
  • Strong problem identification, resolution and analytical abilities
  • Demonstrated outstanding communication, relationship building and collaboration across cross-functional teams
  • Capacity to deliver quality work, multi-task, and focus on priorities under dynamic environment
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills necessary for interacting with all levels across the company to update and manage expectations
  • Subject matter expert in designated Risk Methodologies and corporate risk practices


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or at least 3 years of operations experience
  • At least 3 years of process management experience or risk management experience


Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1+ year experience as a Risk Event Issue Manager
  • 1+ year experience in management of multiple projects concurrently in an autonomous environment
  • 5+ years of process management experience
  • 5+ years operations experience or risk management experience
  • Project Management certification
  • Process management training (e.g. Six Sigma, BPM)
