The position reports to the Manager of the Office of Financial Strategies & Research (FS&R), CDFI Fund. The incumbent performs research and program analyst responsibilities regarding the magnitude and impact of the CDFI Fund programs and award recipients.

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

- Develop meaningful performance models and impact measures in order to guide the use of Fund resources.

- Perform demographic, portfolio, and market analyses to measure the availability of financial services in underserved markets.

- Assess the sustainability of the Fund's programs and operations.

- Work with industry experts and build models for measuring community impact and prepare reports.

- Managing large scale databases using software for data and statistical analysis.

Occasional travel - 1-5 nights per month

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized experience for the GS-13 level: You must have one year of experience at the GS-12 level, or equivalent in the federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes ALL of the following:

-Performing detailed financial research; AND
-Manipulating and managing large scale databases using Statistical Analysis System (SAS) or STATA software, SQL or comparable software for data manipulation and statistical analysis; AND
-Preparing financial data analyses.

Specialized experience for the GS-12 level: You must have one year of specialized experience at a GS-11 level in the Federal service or equivalent. Specialized experience includes ALL of the following:
-Conducting financial research; AND
-Preparing various written reports for use by senior officials; AND
-Using SAS or STATA software, SQL or comparable software for data manipulation and statistical analysis.

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

Rating: There will be a two-phase process.

Phase 2: If you self-certify that you have met the minimum qualification requirements and if your application rates high enough for Phase 1, you will then immediately be asked to complete the second assessment comprised of two narrative responses. There is a 2,500 character limit on each response. Please allow sufficient time to complete both phases before the close date of the announcement. Your responses will be assessed by a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to determine your level of proficiency. Responses lacking detail and those such as N/A, See resume, etc will be deemed ineligible.
