Network Security Engineer
Job DescriptionWhat You'll Get to Do:You will support our work automating cybersecurity operations, emulating adversary behavior, and improving the defensive postures of our sponsors. You'll evaluate tools and methodologies, assess adversary intent, develop cybersecurity analytics and other techniques to thwart or detect attacks, develop approaches to automate cybersecurity operations, and engage in research to improve the state of the practice.More About the Role:Work closely with red-team experts to evaluate IT environments and identify security goals, vulnerabilities, objectives, and requirementsPerform cybersecurity operations testing, and develop improvements to doing so, based on real adversary behavior described in adversary emulation plansEvaluate the efficacy of existing detection mechanisms, analytics, and mitigationsIdentify gaps in visibility, data, tools, and processAddress gaps within defenses by improving systems and processesDevelop approaches to automating cybersecurity operations, reducing cost and increasing efficiencySolve cyber problems through operations, data-driven analytics, and developmentLeverage research, frameworks, and best practices to improve the defensive posture of our sponsorsRequired Skills:Approximately seven years of experience as an infrastructure operatorProficiency working in a Linux environment - Centos, Ubuntu, Fedora, Solaris, BacktrackDatabase experience, to include writing complex queries and modifying schemas (eg Oracle, MySQL).Experience in a cyber-security roleExperience configuring network devices (eg routers, switches, etc.).Experience performing network packet inspection, traffic analysis, performance characterization (eg Wireshark, TCPdump, etc.).Understanding of network/cyber security, penetration testing, and information security best practicesUnderstanding of Linux network security tools - (eg Metasploit, netcat, nmap, etc.).Experience building virtual infrastructure - (eg vSphere).Experience using scripting languages for automation, parsing data sets, and network monitoring (eg bash, Perl, Python, etc.).Experience in either the design, implementation, procurement and maintenance of network infrastructure Active TS/SCI w/ polygraph What We Can Offer You:We've been named a Best Place to Work by the Washington Post.Our employees value the flexibility at CACI that allows them to balance quality work and their personal lives.We offer competitive benefits and learning and development opportunities.We are mission-oriented and ever vigilant in aligning our solutions with the nation's highest priorities.For over 55 years, the principles of CACI's unique, character-based culture have been the driving force behind our success.Job LocationUS-Chantilly-VA-VIRGINIA SUBURBANCACI employs a diverse range of talent to create an environment that fuels innovation and fosters continuous improvement and success.
