The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking an Associate Software Engineer to join the Maritime Undersea (MU) team. Boeing is searching for a self-motivated and independent engineer to add to our dynamic team. This position is located at the Herndon, Virginia site. The position will require Software development, maintaining architectures, requirements, interfaces and designs for integrated software systems for the HardwareWall(R) Cross Domain Solution (CDS). The successful candidate will provide technical support and problem resolution to existing development infrastructure. Additionally, the individual will need to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment, and must be a self-starter with the ability to work both independently and as part of agile development team. Must possess exceptional communication skills, both oral and written. The HardwareWall(R) product is critical to the success of the MU portfolio which primarily supports national security missions for many Department of Defense and Intelligence Community agencies. Primary Responsibilities: Software design, implement, test, and maintenance related documentation Software development in C++ for the HardwareWall(R) using secure coding principles Participate in daily software scrums and sprint planning Work software tickets assigned in JIRA and update accordingly Perform peer code reviews Perform unit and regression testing on software baseline This position requires an active Secret US Security Clearance (US Citizenship Required). (A US Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active). Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): 1+ years developing software in C++ Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills): 1+ years' experience with VMware products, including vSphere, vCenter, Fusion 1+ years' experience with Linux Systems Administration (RedHat, Ubuntu, CentOS, etc) Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) Installation/setup/maintenance of Jenkins automation server Secure coding principles Understanding of inter-process communication Perl Bash scripting (Linux) Python VirtualBox VMware Bachelor's degree or higher Knowledge of Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) Familiarity with Agile development environment Typical Education & Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (eg Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience Relocation: This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
