Summary

The MIL Corporation seeks a Engineering Technician III ( Mac Specialist/Building Lead - Hardware Installation Technician II) to support a Federal Government client at our Bethesda, MD location.

Responsibilities
  • Providing IT Desktop technical support in a Mac environment.
  • Providing support for desktop hardware, operating systems, MS Office applications, and other client applications as required.
  • Monitoring, responding to, and updating incidents in ServiceNow.
  • Supporting future MacOS updates
  • Automation of backups from Linux, Windows, Mac scientific machines and/or clusters to enterprise storag
  • Providing remote support via Bomgar or equivalent tools
  • Utilizing package managers such as Conda and Brew to deploy packages for Linux and Mac
  • Programming using R/RStudio and Python.
  • Following and recommending best practices.
  • Collaborating with contract team and Federal customers to promote a positive, helpful, and inclusive environment.
  • Managing tasks to meet customer SLAs and expectations, communicate issues and recommend remediation.
  • Performing other tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Four (4) or more years' experience in the role of an IT Desktop technician supporting a Mac environment.
  • Three (3) or more years' experience supporting the Mac operating systems (Catalina, Mojave, and High Sierra).
  • Two (2) or more years' experience with MS Office 365 (Word/PowerPoint/Excel).
  • Three (3) years or more experience using ServiceNow incidents or equivalent platform.
  • Knowledge of R/RStudio or equivalent tools.

Desired Qualifications
  • Apple Certified Associate certification.
  • Command-line experience on Linux and/or Mac.
  • High-performance computing and/or programming experience in R or Python.
  • Knowledge of Bomgar or equivalent tool for providing remote support.
  • Backup automation from desktops to enterprise storage
  • Familiarity with Conda and/or Brew package managers for Linux and/or Mac.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong skills in the following key areas including strategic thinking, multi-tasking, time management, planning and executing to a defined schedule.
