Manager, Technology Risk Management

Technology Risk Management (TRM) is a growing organization focused on providing expert advice, credible challenge, and effective oversight of information security and technology activities to identify, assess, control, and manage cyber and technology risk throughout the company. This organization plays a critical role in helping to ensure the company's risk-taking entities are aware of the risks inherent in their activities and decisions, the impact of their actions at an enterprise level, and opportunities to reduce, mitigate, or avoid the risks altogether. Associates within TRM are highly-skilled information security, cyber, technology, and risk management professionals who have a wealth of experience and a demonstrated ability to provide value-added recommendations and deliver high-impact results in their area(s) of expertise.

As a Manager in Capital One's Technology Risk Management team, you will be accountable for centralized reporting, facilitating internal risk management activities and numerous operational functions within the chief of staff team. This position will join the Governance and Operations team to help the organization deliver on its top priorities.

  • Collaborates effectively across multiple organizations such as Operational Risk Management, Enterprise Risk Management, Compliance, Business Risk Offices, Operational Risk Sub-Steward organizations, Information Technology, Basel Program, Internal Audit, Regulator Relations, etc. to achieve objectives.


Specifically, this associate will:
  • Support Technology RM's reporting and analytics needs, including the preparation of written reports, presentations and talking points to communicate identified issues and recommended remediation actions
  • Rationalize reporting output for the department and facilitate reporting requests across the organization
  • Report to the chief of staff managing key operating activities such as budget planning and tracking, planning and overseeing training plans and the coordination of all associate engagement activities to name a few.
  • Assist with the centralized management of Technology RM internal risk processes and deliverables


Basic Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree or Military experience
  • At least 5 years of project management experience
  • At least 4 years of risk management experience
  • At least 3 years of experience working in the fields of information security, cyber, or IT


Preferred Qualifications:
  • 6 or more years of project management experience
  • 5 or more of experience partnering and influencing the business and program stakeholders
  • Passion and expertise in technology or cybersecurity
  • 2 or more years of experience in analysis
