Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree. Agile experience preferred.CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a US Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, US citizenship is required.The Junior Cyber Lead Engineer provides technical analysis in Cyber, data network planning, engineering and design, and implements techniques and tools to improve the combat operating systems. This engineer coordinates with all stakeholders to provide maintenance and troubleshoot hardware and software issues relating to the Cyber requirements in the OS. This individual is also responsible for Cyber requirements definitions, evaluations, critical item tests, etc, in addition to creating and maintaining the custom System Scans that supports all submarine deliveries. The team lead is expected to communicate their own work and their team's work among the program stakeholders; this position requires constant communication with the government customer and representation of the team at both internal and external meetings. The lead must set team expectations for due dates, quality, and peer review among their engineers and regularly ensure that expectations are met. The Cyber team lead reports to the Integration team leadership and is expected to work with the integration leads on the Taskbook to provide support for the hours of the Cyber team. REQUIRED SKILLSProficient understanding of Cyber Security specifications such as Risk Management Framework (RMF), NIST Standards, DoDI 8500.2 and SP 800-53, and other government security specifications and guidelinesKnowledge of security systems such as firewalls, intrusion detection, two factor authentication, etc. Proficient knowledge of cyber security technology and trendsAbility to participate in or lead security work groupsPOA&M development and Vulnerability Management Knowledge of virtualization technologies such as KVM and Containers (Docker and Podman)Knowledge of cloud computing and orchestration technologies such as KubernetesSystem administration experience with Red Hat Linux Operating SystemsSystem administration experience with Windows Server, Windows WorkstationsWorks under limited direction and in fast-paced environmentsCreative thinker, good multi-taskerExcellent technical document preparation and verbal communication skillsHigh proficiency in Microsoft Office productsKEY RESPONSIBILITIESThe Cyber Security Lead will help the Cyber engineering team in security design efforts, cyber requirements analysis and requirements flow down to the program elements. In addition, the Cyber Lead will be responsible for a Team who are required to perform the following tasks:Generates or supports the generation of Assessment and Authorization (A&A) documentation for the programExecutes or supports execution of A&A activitiesParticipates in component reviews in an agile framework offering security guidance on products to meet security requirementsExecutes the security testing and evaluation to ensure the correct implementation of security requirementsExecutes security scanning and the analysis of the scan resultsSupports the Assessment and mitigation of system security threats and risks throughout the system life cycle PREFERRED SKILLSBash/Python ScriptingHardening/Armoring of Linux and Windows systems using STIGsManaging and implementing IAVAs on Linux and Windows systemsFamiliarity with hardening and assessment tools like ACAS, Nessus, OpenSCAP, Anchore, and TwistlockNetwork securitySec+ Implementing Host-based firewallsConducting A&A activitiesGeneral Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) engineers a diverse portfolio of high technology solutions, products and services that enable customers to successfully execute missions across all domains of operation.
