Below is a list of your responsibilities as a Nurse Practitioner - Behavioral Health with Corizon Health at Arlington County Detention Center located in Arlington, VA: * Provide consultations and assessments to manage and stabilize emergent problems. * Provide mental health evaluations, assessments and follow-up care. * Provide consultation and follow-up with mental health staff regarding a patient's diagnosis and treatment, and need for psychotropic medication. * Review treatment plans for patients housed in the mental observation unit and patients receiving medication * Participate in various treatment modalities as required by the mental health service * Participate in case conferences and treatment planning for patients receiving and being considered for mental health treatment * Participate in mental health and medical rounds as assigned * Evaluate patients for hospitalization and monitor patient through contact with the hospital psychiatry staff. * Conduct group sessions on mental health observation, including medication compliance groups. * Perform other duties as assigned by Supervising Psychiatrist. * Graduate of an accredited college/university Nurse Practionioner program * Board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMNHP) * Must demonstrate clinical competence and leadership abilities, such as decision- making abilities, skills in problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills. * CPR Certification. * Minimum one year of clinical nursing practice in a mental health setting, correctional experience preferred, but not required.
