Responsibilities

As a/an SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST, you will:

-Provide technically authoritative advice and guidance to Data Center Division Director and senior Departmental program officials on managing IT and data center efficiency and management activities to meet Department-wide requirements, including systems analysis, systems architecture, systems requirements, systems design, systems engineering, project engineering, planning, measurement, and enterprise testing of technology systems and applications.
-Plan, coordinate, and direct activities related to data center operations, architecture, requirements, systems engineering, and design of Data Center tools, products, and capabilities to support decision making related to IT solutions to meet Departmental business goals while adhering to several important mandates including, but not limited to, the following: OMB Federal Data Center Consolidation Initiative (FDCCI) (2010); OMB FITARA Data Center Optimization Initiative (DCOI) (2016); and OMB Memorandum M-14-08 PortfolioStat Guidance
-Initiate, direct, coordinate, and steward the Department-wide development, promotion, and maintenance of IT Data Center initiatives to adequately and cost effectively meet the Department's current and future business needs.
-Provide technical and managerial leadership and in close partnership with other OCIO entities such as CTO, Enterprise Architecture, and HUD Program Office system owners in support of Data Center mission to ensure new and modernized services for on-premise and Cloud systems architecture, systems design, system engineering, project engineering, system requirements, and integration plans meets all technical, management, and operational standards for performance, functionality, monitoring, and information assurance.

  • Qualifications

    You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

    Specialized Experience: For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:

    - Experience with testing, deploying, configuring and maintaining IT systems and applications; AND
    - Supervising or managing staff responsible for information technology within an organization; AND
    - Overseeing the work of contract resources supporting IT operations functions.

    In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
    • A one year probationary period may be required.
    • A one year supervisory or managerial probationary period may be required.
