About the Position:
This position is located at the Mark Center Building in Alexandria, VA. The Mark Center is the new location for the Washington Headquarters Services of the United States Department of Defense and a number of other DoD agencies. The name of the site refers to the "Mark Center" commercial property in which it is located.

Relocation expenses are NOT being paid.

Responsibilities

  • The primary function of this position is to write Final Agency Decisions for the Agency.
  • Provide quick, effective and responsive mediation of employment disputes that use Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR).
  • Create and maintain a positive and effective ADR environment.
  • Establishing and maintaining employer-employee relationships that contribute to satisfactory productivity, motivation and morale in the work place.
  • Provides technical advice, guidance, and assistance to DoDEA employees, leadership, supervisors and managers as it relates to EEO counseling (pre-complaint counseling and formal complaint processing).

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Prepare Final Agency Decisions and Final Orders (FADS) on complaints analyzing merits of complaints; commensurate experience writing and analyzing complex legal documents.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
