Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire a Nurse Professional Development Consultant for our Professional Development and Practice Department, who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.
The professional development consultant is an experienced and skilled nurse who serves as a coach and / or mentor to the novice or less experienced nurse in order to facilitate learning, critical thinking and progression to independent practice. The professional development consultant observes, listens and guides less experienced nurses in areas such as communication, organization and prioritization of work, situational awareness, professional growth, shared governance and adoption of new processes.

Qualifications include:
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree required,
• Valid Maryland RN license or Compact License required
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• 10-15 years in an acute Care Setting, Preceptor/Leadership experience preferred
