Summary

This position is located within the Risk and Control Group (RCG), Office of the Deputy Chief Financial Officer (ODCFO) of the U.S. Department of the Treasury. The mission of the ODCFO is to continuously improve and innovate Treasury's comprehensive financial management and operational decision-making through competencies in governmental accounting, auditing, financial reporting, financial analysis, internal controls, and governance and standard setting.

Responsibilities

As an Internal Control Analyst, you will:

-Monitor and assess audit coordination and reporting activities across Treasury Bureaus and Offices.

-Utilize Treasury's audit management system and assist with the day to day maintenance of audit data including working with bureaus and offices on data fixes.

-Draft reports as required by the Inspector General Act of 1978 (the IG Act), as amended, and Good Accounting Obligation in Government Act (GAO-IG Act).

-Review and evaluate the current state of the audit management system and its functional and reporting capabilities in order to make recommendations for improvements in the audit follow-up and monitoring process.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized experience:
For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
  • Serving as audit liaison with internal or external auditors, or with other work units within an organization; AND
  • Tracking the progress of audits conducted by internal or external auditors; AND
  • Maintaining an audit data base or other system (such as an Excel-based spreadsheet or SharePoint) that includes tracking audit reports, recommendations, and planned corrective actions; AND
  • Reporting on audit activity, progress, and/or trends to management.

    In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
    For the GS-13, you must have been at the GS-12 level for 52 weeks.
