Responsibilities

This position may be filled at GG-13 grade level, please indicate the grade for which you want to be considered. Incumbent may be advanced non-competitively to the established target grade upon meeting developmental benchmarks, performance requirements, and other requirements, as applicable established for the career program or specifically for the incumbent.

As a INTELLIGENCE OPERATION SPECIALIST you will be responsible for the following duties:
  • Responsible for conducting Cyber CI analysis and inquiries to deter, detect, and neutralize Cyber CI threats against DTRA networks and computer systems.
  • Conducts forensic examinations of digital and other multimedia evidence through the application of latest scientific methods and practices for the discovery, collection, and analysis, of CI technical indicators in support of CI inquiries, operations, and support to national level investigative agencies.
  • Examines and analyzes CI evidence and interprets scientific observations and data to render conclusions, form opinions and produce reports utilizing a full range of electronic search methods and forensic examination techniques.
  • Develops reports, briefs and trains the DTRA community to enhance Cyber CI and insider threat awareness.
  • Provides guidance and recommendations to Designated Approving Authority (DAA) to deter potential Cyber threats to DTRA computers and networks.
  • Establishes Cyber CI education/awareness programs and workforce to integrate counterintelligence equities into all aspects of cyber operations and analysis.
  • Works closely with external and internal computer support entities within DTRA such as Network Operations and Security Center (NOSC), Information Assurance, and Cyber Security groups to assess computer related incidents for counterintelligence and network defense indicators.
  • Researches and utilizes a wide variety of computer and network related tools, techniques and procedures to defeat cyberspace activities that threaten DTRA networks and computers.
  • Strengthens collaboration with Security and other CI functional services to report and produce analytical products and to develop policy and procedures that assists in the protection of DoD electronic assets and infrastructure.
  • Conducts Cyber CI analysis, inquiries and operations to deter, detect, and neutralize Cyber CI threats against DTRA networks and computer systems.
  • Represents DTRA on interagency as well as intra-agency planning and tasking groups, and at other meetings or conferences as directed.
  • Brings a broad understanding of functions and operations of other Intelligence Community agencies and relevant intelligence programs to represent the organization and defend its position.

Qualifications

Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, and will typically be demonstrated by working at, or immediately below the level of the job being advertised, for a year or more. The previous work experience must clearly demonstrate the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience must be reflected in your resume.

Specialized experience required for this position is:
Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies:

1. Experience in DoD Counterintelligence and/or cyber organizations or as credentialed CI agent.

2. Conducting Cyber CI analysis, inquiries and operations to deter, detect, and neutralize Cyber CI threats against networks and computer systems.

3. Experience in computer forensics methodology, wireless and mobile technology, network intrusion detection systems, and network analysis.

Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies:
1. Cyber
2. Counterintelligence
3. Network architecture and Wireless system

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.

Superior Academic Achievement does not apply to DCIPS positions.
