Summary

As an Examination Technician in Systemic Risk Identification Support and Specialty Supervision (SyRIS), Shared National Credit (SNC), you will perform technical work in support of examination processes/reviews within the SyRIS organization, and perform a full range of administrative support to the Deputy Comptroller and SyRIS staff.

Responsibilities

Washington, DC and New York, NY are the preferred locations, though any U.S. location of the OCC will be considered under an alternative work location as defined in PPM 3110-53.

As an Examination Technician in SyRIS/SNC, you will:
  • Perform, and assume responsibility for completing specialized, technical tasks in support of SyRIS supervisory and program-related activities, such as, generating/preparing recurring, standard and custom reports and data worksheets.
  • Review and research relevant regulations and procedural requirements associated with targeted SyRIS review topics and designated banks.
  • Provide assistance to examiners during the planning stage, and while conducting portions of examinations/horizontal review process. Assist examiners with obtaining information, combining data or conclusions, and develop reports.
  • Prepare spreadsheets, custom bank performance reports, correspondence, and other documents for conclusion/close-out activities.
  • Perform administrative tasks in support of SyRIS program activities, operations and examinations.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of this announcement:

You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the NB-III pay band or GS-7 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Examples of specialized experience for this position include:
  • Researching, assembling, and analyzing financial data to validate financial statements or reports; AND
  • Processing financial transactions, creating and maintaining financial spreadsheets/accounts, and resolving account discrepancies.

OR

Education: One full year of graduate education meets the requirements where it is directly related to the work of the position. One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered as satisfying the 1 year of full-time study requirement.

An equivalent combination of education and experience

The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or through volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
