Location:Springfield, MassachusettsThe Manager Entertainment Finance & Accounting is responsible for performing assigned accounting and reporting activities for MGM Springfield and the MassMutual Center, while adhering to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and MGM Resorts International's corporate accounting policies. The Manager supports the Executive Director of Finance and provides financial support to entertainment venues and other related or interfacing entertainment departments, and/or partners and co-promoters as required. Responsibilities include event settlement and ensuring all applicable balance sheet accounts continuously reflect accurate financial position.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: Support the Executive Director of Finance and provide financial oversight and execution to entertainment venues and other related or interfacing entertainment departments, and/or partners and co-promoters as requiredManage assigned operational functions consistent with the strategic plan and vision for the arena.Prepare, and/or review, all co-promoter and joint venture related entries, and proactively coordinate month end close revenue and expense accrual journals with the Finance Shared Services CenterPrepare accurate journal entries to reflect proper accrual basis accounting transactions in the correct period - activities are to be performed in accordance with GAAP and follow the guidelines of the co-promoter agreement with Live Nation and/or any future co-promoters- responsibilities include all entities within MGM Springfield.Maintain records and ensure accurate billing of all premium seating, sponsorship, and other annual billing for the PartnershipMonitor financial activities and details for MassMutual Center, such as cash flow and reserve levels for company and state accounts and payments, to ensure that all contractual, legal, and regulatory requirements are metPrepare management reports regarding compliance operations and progress for the stateEstablish and monitor MassMutual Center budgets and financial operations for Convention Sales department; review event bills for accuracy, and approve vendor payments and commission paymentsWork closely with Corporate Entertainment Finance to ensure alignment with all policy and procedures including headliner settlement process, audit, journal entries, and reconciliations.Responsible for performing all theatrical event settlements, including calculation and preparation of wires, interfacing with outside show and promoter accountantsCreate, manage, and analyze annual budget with Entertainment Director including operations and marketing strategies, to produce short and long term profitability for the arena.Generate pre-event and post-event analysis including financial proformasDevelop, oversee and make valid recommendation in the financial planning and accounting of concessions, retail, catering, conventions, security, EVS, tower club, and other third-party operators. Analyze financial information supplied by various operating departments for accuracy. Inform departments and others of unusual or unexpected financial results and make recommendations for corrections and improvementsDevelop, maintain, and audit/review entertainment profit and loss statements and oversee all accounts payable and receivable activitiesGenerate and provide reports and financial interfaces with box office/ticketing and internal audit.Create requested schedules for periodic internal, external, and regulatory audits and reviewsCreate and maintain requested schedules for any partner upon requestGenerate and distribute Daily Operating Report information as necessaryMonitor and review general ledger account reconciliations that are performed by Financial Shared Services Center to ensure accounts are reconciled in an accurate and timely manner. Resolve any issues that occur as needed.Produce financial reports and ad-hoc analyses as requested by property leadership, including CFO, Executive Director Finance, and Director Entertainment, and/or the Corporate Entertainment office.Assist the Director Entertainment with the Contract Review process, provide recommendations on how to proceed.Assist with tracking Risk Management/Insurance requirements to ensure compliance within established and future contractsOther Accounting and Finance related duties as requested and required by MGM Springfield management and corporate entertainmentThis job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee in this position.
