ASRC Federal Data Networx is seeking aLinux Systems Administratorto join our team supporting the Defense Research Engineering Network (DREN) at our APG (Aberdeen Proving Ground) location in Maryland. This position could be on location at Aberdeen Proving Ground or Remote with some travel, Responsibilities Attend team meetings to understand requirements, change requests and defect reports. Schedule and perform regular systems maintenance. General Microsoft & Linux systems administration: security patching, OS upgrades, troubleshooting problems, and ensuring maximum availability. Troubleshoot and debug issues that rise in production and during solution development. Develop solutions using tools for additional capabilities. Provide guidelines, do or don't do recommendations and resolutions. Install new software releases, system upgrades, evaluate and install patches and resolve software and hardware related problems in regularly scheduled maintenance. Write system scripts for daily administration, and document system infrastructure as required. Ancillary duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.
