About the Position: This position is located at the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command, Deputy Chief of Staff, G-3/5/7, U.S. Army Security Assistance Training Field Activity, Fort Eustis, VA. Fort Eustis, VA is located in Newport News, between historic Williamsburg and Virginia Beach. The Hampton Roads/Tidewater area has all the conveniences of a big city with charm of small town and rural areas.

Responsibilities

  • Research policies and regulations that apply to the execution of Security Cooperation/Security Assistance Training to develop sound and supportable recommendations based on these findings to senior leadership, and higher headquarters.
  • Responsible for maintaining organization data bases and program records for the U.S. Army Security Assistance training programs for all foreign countries and international organizations within assigned geographical training program.
  • Responsible for planning, programming, scheduling, and administration of Security Assistance training programs for all foreign countries and international organizations within assigned geographical area of responsibility.

  • SECRET CLEARANCE - This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • PERFORM TEMPORARY DUTY (TDY) - This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 25% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Plan, program, schedule, and administration of training programs for foreign countries and international organizations within assigned geographical area of responsibility; 2) Conduct analytical studies to identify the most appropriate method to overcome training deficiencies; 3) Develop programs and implement special programs to fulfill foreign country training requirements in support of Foreign Military Sales agreements, political considerations and fulfillment of training program objectives; and 4) Implement policies, regulations and procedures related to training programs.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
