Summary

As a Program Specialist in the Office of Financial Management, you will lead projects to apply robotics process automation methods to standardize and improve business processes and policies.

Location of position: General Services Administration, Office of the Chief Financial Officer, Washington, DC

Responsibilities

As a Program Specialist, you will perform the following duties:
  • Provide overall leadership utilizing continuous process improvement opportunities for Robotics Process Automation (RPA). Introduce robotics process automation methods to the agency. Use a pro-active leadership approach by taking the initiative to identify opportunities for process improvement applications and persuading managers to use robotics process automation for rapid and significant process improvements.
  • Provide key input to process improvement policy development and implementation at the agency headquarters office level, establish the RPA infrastructure, and advise the OCFO on issues of strategic importance. Evaluate the effectiveness of the RPA program at OCFO. Analyze and vet projects for suitability of process automation, establish project charters and milestones for approved projects. Collaborate with other robotics process automation professionals in other Federal agencies and the private sector to maintain expertise in the field and share GSA success stories with the larger RPA community.
  • Lead projects to apply robotics process automation methods to standardize and significantly improve GSA or OCFO business processes and policies. Provide technical leadership and project direction for ad hoc project teams. Set goals and technical standards for project team members, anticipates and effectively responds to changes in workload and resources, and influences project team members through an inclusive style and recognition of project team member abilities and knowledge. Lead projects to completion and presents and defends results to agency managers.
  • Prepare and conduct briefings for higher level management to explain RPA, provide recommendations and action plans, and propose guidance and direction for implementation of recommendations. Provide management with timely, accurate and substantive input. Participate in a variety of management analysis studies of national significance or outstanding importance to the organization. Provide administrative and technical expertise to GSA personnel and reviews problematic or potentially controversial situations.
  • Coach individual managers on using robotics process automation and overcoming obstacles for successful implementation of bots. Develop outreach programs to increase awareness of robotics process automation methods. Develop and present training courses on robotics process automation and the ways in which this approach to business process improvement can strengthen agency performance.

The GS-14 salary range starts at $122,530.00 per year.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or higher in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience leading business process improvement projects that involve development of new approaches and application of robotics process automation; this includes eliminating, optimizing and/or automating inefficient and/or repetitive tasks.

  • Ability to delegate and guide a team towards the successful accomplishment of assignments and delegate responsibility within assignments.

Required Documents
